What is AI Playlist Radio?

An old-school web radio built around AI PLAYLIST’s Spotify playlists, with APR Signal Ledger as its cryptographic proof layer. A song may end, but its airplay should not disappear into silence. One link, one signal and a public path from airplay to verifiable Proof of Airplay.

What is it used for?

The radio plays tracks from the AI PLAYLIST playlists in the system. Listeners use the front page as a simple live player. Admin uses the panel to choose which playlist the radio should pull music from.

Sync playlists

Admin includes Sync now for immediate imports, while an automatic nightly sync looks for new releases. Every new playlist is ownership-verified against the AI PLAYLIST Spotify profile before it is added; existing playlists are never removed because of a temporary Spotify issue.

Why does it exist?

To recreate the feeling of classic web radio with a modern mobile experience: a public radio signal, live listeners, charts, sharing, covers, and a radio feeling around the music.

Core rules

  • The radio should only use the AI PLAYLIST playlists added to the system.
  • Music is not uploaded to the site; the site controls and displays the radio signal.
  • The main player should not be stopped by admin, charts, data, or manual — they open as overlays.
  • The chart links to each track on Spotify and can be filtered in multiple modes.

Charts

The chart is built as a living radio archive, not just a simple list. It shows both how much the radio actually plays and which tracks and artists listeners react to.

  • Most played shows the tracks with the most radio plays.
  • 🔥 Hot tracks uses an evidence-weighted heat score that combines likes, play count and how recent the response is. One like from one play can therefore no longer dominate the chart by itself.
  • Most liked shows tracks with the most thumbs up.
  • Most liked artists adds up likes across every track by an artist and can be filtered by genre.
  • Newest liked highlights new tracks that already received likes.

Thumbs up / down

The listener view has thumbs down to the left of play and thumbs up to the right. Thumbs up counts as a positive vote for the current track. Thumbs down never affects any ranking negatively and is never counted as a minus — it is only a direct listener reaction.

  • One listener/device can give one thumbs up per track.
  • Likes are shown in the charts together with play count.
  • Voting should feel physical with a subtle animation when the choice is made.

Audience momentum

The live count always shows the exact number of real devices receiving the radio signal right now. When today's real activity is stronger, a subtle second line appears with the metric named accurately.

  • Unique listeners today uses an anonymous persistent device identity when the radio actually starts.
  • Listening starts, reactions and radio plays are timestamped separately.
  • No simulated listeners are added to the live count or momentum line.
  • Superadmin can hide the public line without stopping the history.

Music-reactive visualisation

The waves in the listener view follow the radio signal’s frequencies. The leading wave responds mainly to kick, bass, and sharp transients, while the finer layers follow low-mid, midrange, and treble.

  • The analysis is passive and does not alter the Icecast, Spotify, or broadcast chain.
  • On iPhone and the iOS Home Screen app, a lightweight live reading of the same radio signal is used because Safari limits direct audio analysis.
  • The visualisation reconnects when the app wakes or becomes visible again.
  • If analysis is temporarily unavailable, the soft fallback animation takes over without stopping playback.

Automatic reconnect

When a listener loses mobile coverage or Wi-Fi, the player keeps the listening intent and automatically reconnects to the current live signal.

  • Brief interruptions receive a soft buffering grace period before a fresh connection is forced.
  • During dictation and system audio, the web app preserves the same player and stream URL and waits for iOS to confirm that the microphone has been released.
  • When WebKit reports that the system interruption has actually ended, the same radio session resumes even while the radio app remains in the background.
  • If iOS does not provide a safe end signal, the web app retries when the radio becomes visible without starting audio during dictation.
  • Longer network interruptions use fast retries that gradually spread out to protect both battery and server.
  • As soon as connectivity returns, the player retries immediately without reloading the page or creating a second audio player.
  • An intentional pause always disables recovery until the listener presses play again.
  • If iOS requires a new user gesture after a full page reload, one clear reconnect button is shown.

Verified signal

If a song plays but no one can prove it happened, what value survives the moment? APR Signal Ledger makes sure recorded airplay never passes unnoticed. Each play can leave cryptographic Proof of Airplay with playlist provenance and aggregate likes.

  • The Verified icon beside the playlist opens a bottom sheet over the radio with the certificate, verified plays, likes and complete batch hash; audio continues without interruption.
  • Daily data packages are linked by a hash chain and Merkle proofs so each track’s inclusion can be checked.
  • A sealed proof cannot be rewritten. New activity creates a new snapshot while earlier history remains intact.
  • Every track proof can be shared as a custom certificate with the track’s real Spotify artwork, verified plays, likes, and proof reference.
  • Packages are EAS-signed for Base. The interface only says anchored on Base after a real transaction is confirmed.
  • Email addresses, IP addresses, sessions, pitch copy, dislikes, and individual voter identities are never published in proofs.
  • APR Token must never influence editorial decisions, charts, or what counts as a verified radio signal.

Share a track

The share icon opens a composer without stopping the radio. It fetches the track artwork from Spotify when available, otherwise the playlist cover, and builds a live fact line from plays and likes.

  • Instagram uses the phone’s media sharing with the artwork as an image.
  • TikTok has a dedicated option that copies a concise caption and opens TikTok’s official uploader.
  • Facebook opens the publishing flow with a finished link card: one cohesive cover, a subtle APR overlay, headline, and live data.
  • X and WhatsApp receive a short caption and one smart radio link.
  • The share page contains separate links to the radio, track, artist, and playlist.

Pitch a track

At pitch.aiplaylist.io, an artist starts with one public Spotify track. After import only email is required; the editor can find the strongest fit across the network.

  • Free Pitch provides a human editorial decision within 7 days.
  • Playlist suggestions and pitch copy of up to 200 words are optional.
  • The same Spotify track may be submitted as a free pitch no more than twice in any rolling 30-day period.
  • Super Pitch costs $19, with applicable taxes included, and provides a full listen, scorecard, and personal feedback within 24 hours of verified payment.
  • Payment covers review time and feedback — never playlist placement or airplay.
  • Permission to turn artist-provided details into short bilingual radio facts is optional and never influences the decision.
  • Email, contact details, and the full pitch are never published.
  • The Spotify link must point to the individual song. Open the song in Spotify, choose Share and then Copy link; album, playlist and artist links cannot be used.
  • No music file is uploaded or stored; the system uses the Spotify link.
  • Approved and rejected submissions are archived. Rejections require a reason.
  • If a Super Pitch deadline is missed, the same email receives a personal single-use link for the next Super Pitch, valid for 12 months.

Artist layer and direct support

At APR Artist, an artist can claim their Spotify identity, connect a public self-custodied Base wallet and receive a public artist profile after human verification.

  • Approved profiles can receive USDC directly through Base Pay; APR never stores private keys and never holds the artist’s funds.
  • During launch, 100 percent of each tip goes directly to the artist. A future network share activates only through an audited, public split contract.
  • Public Proof of Airplay and sharing remain free.
  • Premium certificates, deeper analytics, profile tools, campaigns and API data are built as Artist Pro services.
  • $APR may later support tips, discounts and tools, but can never buy playlist placement, likes or chart weight.

Manifestos, facts and Constitution

APR's editorial voice has three separate layers: verifiable Radio Facts, the numbered Manifesto Library and The Radio Constitution.

  • Radio Facts use only data APR can actually verify about a track, playlist, plays, likes or approved pitch information.
  • The library contains MANIFESTO_001–1000 plus separate series for myths, history, predictions, discoveries, AI notes and system facts.
  • Manifestos are APR positions and are labelled as such; they are never presented as statistics.
  • The Constitution contains APR's core positions on music, technology, artist rights, human curation, listener signals and verification.
  • Every entry has a permanent public page and its own typography-first share card for iOS, Facebook, X and other social platforms.
  • Inside the radio, a manifesto may occasionally whisper through the existing fact line; it opens no popup and never touches the audio chain.

APR Smart Jingle Engine V2

Admin manages jingles in a compact cart wall while V2 finds a musical opening in the live signal without stopping Spotify or starting a second broadcast.

  • Upload WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or FLAC, or record directly with the microphone in admin.
  • Preview plays only on the administrator's device; Play out adds the jingle to the real broadcast queue.
  • Choose low, balanced or high FM frequency. History and track counters remain intact when frequency changes.
  • V2 searches for a relatively open musical moment for a few seconds but never waits indefinitely for complete silence.
  • When the music is dense, protected FM filtering and smooth ducking make room for the jingle without creating a second audio chain.
  • Jingles play serially through one queue. At the top of the hour V2 selects one eligible hourly jingle and plays it at most once per hour.
  • Both the cart and its automation must be enabled and the schedule saved before it can be selected automatically.
